The key to mastering resets! 🧠

Tip of the day

This Selkirk TV video teaches how to do effective resets when faced with an aggressive dink.

When the ball is hit wide, your return shot should be aimed at your opponent's inside foot, not straight down the line.

Aim for the middle of the kitchen, as close to the net as possible.

This is important because it prevents your opponent from hitting an Ernie, where they jump around the net post to hit the ball out of the air.

Resetting in the middle of the kitchen also keeps your shot safe from being attacked.

Key Points:

  • Target Inside Foot: Aim reset shots towards the opponent's inside foot when pushed wide.

  • Avoid Straight Line Shots: Direct down-the-line shots can lead to easy points for the opponent.

  • Maintain Game Control: Resets help you stay in control during challenging plays.

  • Prevent the Ernie: Aiming inside makes it difficult for opponents to perform an Ernie.

  • Useful in Advanced Play: This reset strategy is particularly effective against skilled players.
