How to hit a topspin dink! 🔥
Tip of the day
Matt from The Pickleball Clinic teaches the topspin dink, an offensive dinking technique.
He emphasizes the importance of generating spin in the modern game due to evolving paddle technology.
To hit a topspin dink, players should start with the paddle head under the ball, ensuring the paddle is lower than the ball.
The ball should be hit out in front of the body, about six inches to a foot in front of the feet, using the shoulder and forearm to generate spin, not the wrist.
The finish should have the paddle face still square to the target, perpendicular to the ground.
Key Points:
Start Under the Ball: Begin with the paddle head lower than the ball to create topspin.
Hit in Front: Strike the ball six inches to a foot in front of your feet for more control and power.
Use Shoulder and Forearm: Generate spin using the shoulder and forearm, avoiding using the wrist to maintain control.
Maintain Paddle Position: Finish with the paddle face square to the target, perpendicular to the ground.
