How to fix your backhand! 🤦
Tip of the day
Connor from Enhance Pickleball teaches how to improve your one-handed pickleball backhand.
The first step is to use the continental grip, where the paddle is perfectly up and down in the center of your body.
The second step is to have a good take back, where the paddle points directly behind you and your shoulders turn sideways.
The third step is to contact the ball out in front and follow through with little wrist movement, using your shoulder and rotation for power.
The fourth step is good footwork, moving your feet efficiently to get into the right position to hit the ball.
Key Points:
Use the continental grip for your backhand.
Take the paddle back so it points directly behind you, and turn your shoulders sideways.
Make contact with the ball out in front and follow through with little wrist movement.
Use your shoulder and rotation for power.
Move your feet efficiently to get into the right position to hit the ball.
Gear review of the day
The Ronbus Nova.R1 is a paddle that falls between a Gen 1 and Gen 2 raw carbon fiber paddle.
It has a unique carbon fiber grid foamed edge that releases internal pressure, preventing core crushing and delamination.
The paddle has a longer handle, making it more comfortable for two-handed backhands.
It feels solid and plush, especially on blocks, compared to the Vatic Pro Prism, which feels stiffer and slightly more hollow.
The Nova.R1 is great for those who prefer more control than power.

Quick Specs:
Price: $180
Paddle Shape: Elongated with a rounded head
Surface Material: Raw carbon fiber
Average Weight: 7.8 ounces
