Richard's fix is to make your drops more linear, so that when you miss, you miss deep and low instead of high.

Even if your opponent, Zach in the demo, takes that deep miss out of the air, they're taking it at the waist, not the chest. From there they can mostly just roll it, and you get an easier ball to reset.

The way to get there is your contact point. Take the ball further out in front, which keeps the paddle face slightly more closed.

Then lengthen your follow through so your arm goes forward and then up, not straight up. You can still finish wherever you like, as long as the arm travels forward first.

It works the same whether you push, slice or roll your drop, and on the backhand too.

From the middle of the court, add just a touch more height, since the ball has less space to get up and down. From the wide side, keep it even more linear.
